Are You Sure?

You can be 100% sure!

Are you 100% sure that you know you will go to Heaven someday? Can anyone even know this for sure?

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life." I John 5:13

God’s Word explains His plan for all mankind to spend eternity with Him in Heaven. There are many ideas and philosophies that sound logical, but we must place our belief system in what God tells us in the Bible.

So what does God tell us?

We all are sinners

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” Romans 3:10

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

There is a penalty for our sin

The penalty is two-fold: Physical death and Spiritual death.

Physical death – separation of the soul & spirit from our body

"Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Romans 5:12

Spiritual death – the soul and spirit separated from God for all eternity

"For the wages of sin is DEATH; but the gift of God is eternal LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 6:23

The wages or penalty for our sins is not only physical death of our body someday, but spiritual death (separation from God in Hell) as well. Our only hope is that this penalty can be paid in full so we do not suffer the consequences of our sin for all eternity.

Jesus paid the penalty for our sin

“But God commendeth (showed) His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

God LOVES all of us and does not want us to spend eternity separated from Him. He made a way for us. That penalty was paid for us through His Son – Jesus Christ, who was perfectly sinless. He suffered death and separation from God for us on the cross. However, God raised Him up three days later, and He is now in Heaven. He is waiting for us to believe in what He did for us.

Heaven is a free gift from God

“For the wages of sin is death, BUT… the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 6:23

Jesus took on the penalty of death in our place, and it is finished. There is nothing we can ever do to earn this free gift or deserve it. So how do we claim it?

We receive this gift through faith in Jesus

It is that simple. When we believe in Jesus and come to Him or “call on Him”, He gives us His FREE gift of salvation.

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Acts 16:31

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

How do I do this?

Simply believe God and His Word, call unto Jesus and ask Him to give you this free gift of salvation. We generally lead people in a prayer to Jesus that goes something like this…

“Dear Jesus. I know that I am a sinner, and I can’t get to Heaven by myself. Please come into my heart & life, save me and take me to Heaven someday. Thank you for paying the penalty for me. I trust you as my Savior.” Amen
